I don't know how long it has been since your last period, but if it has been a really long time, it is normal. I went 6 months without one, and when I finally started, it lasted almost two weeks, and it was very heavy with lots of blood clots. I was nauseous pretty much the whole time because I was losing so much blood at one time, but after it was all over with I was fine. I called my doctor, and he said that it was normal because of the time frame that I went without. As far as this being yucky, don't worry about it, we are here to help answer questions whether they are yucky or whatever. I hope this helps. Take care, Susan P.
