How long has it been since your last AF? A D&C is fairly drastic. You can induce a period with a medication called Provera. Doctor's generally like you to have at least 3 periods a year so will give you Provera 3 times a year. If it's been a REALLY long time, you may want to get a D&C to start "fresh" and then every 3 or 4 months take a course of Provera to prevent it from building up again.
