I keep it between 60 to 80 grams a day and I am losing steadily (and that is not considered average - it is considered low).... and no this is not a new thing, I've been on Glucophage for one year now and as long as I stay in that range I lose. If I go below 30 to 40, I don't tolerate it well, I break out in a rash and my hair starts falling out but even when I have pig out phases, eating anything I want, I tend not to gain, but maintain and have not gained a lb since I started the gluc. 80 grams is too low for an average daily intake - considering something as simple as a sprite and a cup of chex-mix is already 80 grams right there - not even considering the daily meals involved. (yes, I'm aware that chex mix and sprite are low carb no no's but I'm using an "average" person's intake) The best thing you can do is read over some of the programs and do what works best for you without making yourself miserable.
