Hi Angela :)

The thing about PCOS is, unlike its name would imply, it's not a menstrual disease, or a disease of your ovaries. Most doctors think now that it is caused by problems with your insulin. That is what leads to the heart disease and diabetes. So, in order to protect yourself, you have got to get your insulin levels down. This is most easily acheived with medication (metformin, avandia, actos) but you can also do it yourself by eating a low carb diet and excercising. I'm way tired tonight and am not sure if what I said makes any sense at all, so if it didn't, feel free to email me and ask aagin! I might be more coherent later :)
