Re: Why is PCOS different for everyone? From: AdoptASAP (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 28 May 2001 14:48:02 -0500 (CDT)
PCOS effects the insulin which inturn effects your hormones. Hormone levels are imbred and are unique to EVERYONE on the planet, not just PCOSers. So the degree of damage determains the degree of hormones which then effects the outcome. Yes unforunately, having Hyperthyroid is impacting you more then if you didnt have it. Eating 'norma' is not good enough for people like us... people with these problems. You should be low carbing. You will lose some weight, but I fear not all of it. Again, not your fault. Its the medical issues. 50% of all PCOSers are overweight. MANY will not lose it all. Many will only loose a little bit.. a couple of dress sizes. Again, not our fault. The best you can do is deal with whats in front of you, and accept you as you are. God created you the way you are. Does he make mistakes? Although we dont like it, we can accept it and be happy. It took me a near-death car accident to snap me out of my woes. I dont want to see something as horrible as that to make you see the light. Attach the PCOS and the Hyperthyroid and be happy with life. You are alive. You are here to experience all sorts of things. Don't let your appearance and weight get in the way. BTW, I am 100+ pounds overweight. I am ok with that. I am working at losing the hair/acne part of it though. But the weight doesnt really bother me anymore. I am how I am. If others don't like it, they can go blow it out their rear. I am here for ME, no one else.
