how low is too low

When I was at the doc last month, she decided to give me a cholesterol blood test since so many PCOSers have cholesterol and triglyceride problems. It came last week...and the cholesterol level is 150, with an HDL ratio of 3.4. Is this too low an overall level? The notice said normal is 160-200, and I read the other day that having too low cholesterol can be bad for you. I think that the low-carb, low-fat "diabetic" diet I am on lowered it (it had been more like 170 or 180 a couple of years ago). I've been eating oatmeal almost every day for breakfast and exercising. Please inform me!

Thanks! Becca
