I know this is an older post but I just saw it and wanted to reply. Because of too low progesterone levels you have unopposed estrogen. In women about 99 percent of their testosterone is bound to other substances and is unavailable as an active hormone. The rate at which available testosterone is cleared from a woman's body is related to her hormone balance. Estrogen decreases testosterone clearance where progesterone increases it. When progesterone is increased the clearance of testosterone is increased and its androgenic effects are reduced.
