? about PCOSFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 24 May 2001 17:57:44 -0500 (CDT)
Is it possible to have normal ovaries & uterus and still be diagnosed with PCOS? I had a m/c back in March, and a month ago I happened to come across an article on PCOS that listed some of the symptoms. I am overweight, though I carry it proportinate, never had any acne, but I do have some hairs on my chin & chest (though I swear that it did get worse after shaving it) and have alot of thin hairs on my upper legs, also I have some dark patches on the back on my neck & armpits--my mom took me in when I was a kid to have it looked at, and they gave me stuff to make it go away but it was only on my back of my neck while the armpit showed up within the last couple of years). Anyways, when I had my m/c, I had an ultrasound done and the nurse who explained the ultrasound, told us that the ultrasound everything was "cleared" out & nothing looked wrong. But after reading about PCOS, it seems that the ovaries have cysts--is that something that all women diagnosed with PCOS have? Thanks for listening--and for any answers! :-) Jennifer
