Hello Hillary! I have just been reading the thread with your test results (waiting for replies to a message of my own but didn't get any!! I had to reply to you because I am exactly the same as you except without the ability to maintain such a very healthy diet!! I do not have cysts, my hormones are virtually normal but I have every symptom of PCOS there is including gallbladder disease!! I also have an underactive thyroid. My life has been utter hell for many years and I am frustrated, desperate and sick! I too have been particularly devastated by hair loss. It sounds silly, but I long for the long hair I used to have and I am so upset because I feel that, even though I am obese, I'd look OK if I didn't have short hair!! I exercise regularly, although my motivation has dropped dramatically lately, but I am no nearer a solution to it all. Fortunately, my gynae is an enlightened man who has diagnosed PCOS on the basis of the symptoms that I do have. Knowing that I am insulin resistant, he has prescribed Metformin for me. What a relief!! I have three children but am hoping for just one more and the drug has regularised my periods although I have not lost weight. My acne has also improved significantly. Your message struck such a chord with me - I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. You probably do have PCOS from what I can understand, but even if there is no name for what you experience that does NOT mean that it isn't real and it doesn't mean that you can't beat it. Just lately, I have not been very positive and have almost been resigned to living the rest of my life as an ugly blob. But now I find myself saying urgently to you - don't give up!! And maybe I will be able to take that advice for myself!! I wish you all the very best - keep talking to those doctors!! Katie
