Thyroid medication or glucophage ?From: Jenna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 18 May 2001 10:51:51 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I was diagnosed to have PCOS and have not had a natural period for a year. I have however had induced periods by taking Provera. I always seemed to have very little energy and fluctuations in my glucode level throughout the day. I went to an endo who figured it might be low thyroid and put me on 0.05mg of Synthroid. Now after 2 months I definitely feel a lot better as far as my energy levels are concerned but still have not had a period. My endo thinks I have an issue with my thyroid levels only and does not want to put me on Glucophage. I hv hrd a lot of good things abt it from u guys and want to try it. Do u think I should push for glucophage or just keep taking the thyroid medication. Also is chromium by any chance an alternative to glucophage. If it is maybe I can try that and see what it does for me. What do u think ?
