Sharron, I don't post much on here, but I do read the posts. I like to respond to posts such as yours though. I am going to be 33 years old next month and I was 15 when I was diagnosed with pcos. At that time, not much was known about the disease. I was told that I had a choice of BCP or having my ovaries out. I am thankful that at that age I knew I wanted kids and chose the BCP. I have had all kinds of testing done and have gone as far as injectible meds with ttc (trying to conceive). About the diet, I have tried EVERY diet there is out there and I want you to know that for ME, the only diet that has worked is the Atkins Diet. Alot of people don't like it because they think that you can have NO carbs, or that you have to stay below 20. This is entirely false. You start out at 20 or less and you up your carb intake til you find what works for you and allows you to keep losing weight. I have been on this diet for a year to a year and a half now and have had GREAT results. I know there are several low carb diets out there, I have tried almost all of them, but have found that Atkins is the one that works for me. If you would like to email me privately, feel free to. I have done this diet long enough that I know alot of dishes to cook and ways to cook things that make it easier. I would love to help you in any way possible. I am not trying to toot my own horn, but I can tell you what my RE (reproductive Endocrynologist) has told me about this disease and how the low carb diet can help in all aspects of this disease, and what has helped me with my low carbing life. God bless you and be with you on this journey to help your daughter. Email me anytime. Diane
