While acupuncture may alleviate some of the symptoms of PCOS I can't see looking at it as a cure for the disorder itself. That would be akin to saying you could acupuncture away alzheimers or Lou Gherigs disease (and don't tell me someone has done this - I'm not buyin' it). This is a systemic disorder that has its roots in your genes. And to say someone doesn't have a "severe" case of PCOS is misleading.... It is a PROGRESSIVE disorder, it absolutely does not stay on one level without medical intervention. If it's not severe now, it absolutely will be down the road. And at this point, most of the doctors who spent years studying the female anatomy don't know jack about this disorder so I sure wouldn't take an acupuncturists advice on it. I'm sorry I just think comments like that make it seem like those of us who have benefitted immensely from medication are sell outs or weaklings because we "gave in" to the drugs. I am definately NOT saying acupunture is a bad thing... like I said, I'm sure it's beneficial to some of the symptoms - just not the cause.
