Amy-

The Glucophage XR has worked wonders for me. It's been much better for my stomach. I couldn't even handle the regular glucophage. The XR is taken with the largest meal of the day (for most people that's dinner) and you take the entire dosage at that one time (I take 1500mg). For me, that's 3 pills at dinner. That's it. It's been soooooooooo good for me.
