These symptoms suck!

... but we have to hang in there...

Hi everyone. I have been reading your postings daily, researching, and just finished reading Sugar Busters!, and I only found out such a thing as PCOS exisited a little over a week ago. Yup! & I have all the lovely symptoms. I hear ya... none are too pretty, but I am happy. Seriously, crazy as that may sound. Happy that I finally can relate to people like yourselves, that the doctors finally never gave up on me, and now I can slip into the drivers seat and take control. Yes... I know, there is no magical cure, but we can now gain and share knowledge about something that almost threw us all into isolation.

I just started taking the Diane 35 pill. It's an oral contraceptive, with anti-androgens (to help with acne and facial/body hair). That'll hopefully start me mestrating again, plus make looking into a mirror a little more pleasureable. I am also on Celexa (an anti-depressant). If any of my friends knew, they wouldn't believe me, but the symptoms really started to get me down, and confused b/c no one had any answers for me. The Celexa is helping keep my head up through all this, and giving me the strength to go outside. It's funny because no one has any idea how truly hard that really is sometimes. They don't see what I see, or feel as I do. That ok though. Time for change.

After reading Sugar Busters! (remember I have only known about this for a week still), I have put my self on a stricked low carb/no sugar diet... it's working!!! 6 pounds in a week!!, and I haven't even started the exercise portion yet! The more I think about it, we should NOT see ourselves as being deprived, but that we are actually eating healthfully... the way we were meant too before the introduction of fast food, and refined sugars. So my point is, maybe knowing what is wrong with us will actually help us to live longer. I mean think about it...if some of us were to continue eating the way we were - YIKES!

I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason. I am bound and determined to find the positive out of this. Yes there will be bumps in the road... but weren't there always. Life may knock me down, but it will never knock me out!!

It is really nice to have met all of you. I am here. :-) ~ With best wishes, Corrie
