Re: buying GlucophageFrom: jodi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 10 May 2001 17:42:00 -0500 (CDT)
hi christa i'm in the same boat as you... unless i get my butt in gear finding a full time real job (as opposed to the student job i hold on campus...) i will lose my insurance when i go down to part-time student from full time. there are online pharmacies you can get medication at ... i have heard of one called, i think, pharmacycare which is in new zealand and has great prices. HOWEVER as i sit and do the math, it seems that paying for meds and doctors visits isn't going to be the worst of my problems - paying for lab tests is!!! i had my insurance deny a urine check when i had a kidney infection, and that costs 150 bucks. if it costs that much money to look at some pee, i don't even wanna think about what it will cost to look at blood, hormones, etc!!!! have you thought about this part of the equation? i somehow get the feeling you are looking to buy meds without having a doctor follow you at all... since, if you have a doc follow you, you're going to have to go in for blood work, etc. while it is possible to get meds without a prescription, i have been told that it is extremely risky to do so. if you get caught, there are serious consequences (although, i am not sure how serious those would really be for a med like glucophage...) my mother suggested i look into going on medical assistance, which i might do if i haven't found a full time job by august... is that a possibility for you? - jodi A
