rambling is A-OK in my book... look at some of the posts *i've* put out!!! :)

i don't know that i am expecting too much of the met so much as i don't know exactly what to expect. on the one hand, i can accept that it could take some time for the met to work... but on the other, many of these studies seem to be 8-12 weeks, and they claim to see great results. in the 3 1/2 months i have been on met, i have not seen much in the way of improvement. i have lost 15 pounds or so... i have had one period... and my blood wwork indicated that my 17-hydroxyprogesterone dropped from 634 to 151. well, i know that's good... but my doc didn't order any other blood work such as testosterone, insulin, etc. i feel like, if i could see what THOSE levels were, i would be more content to keep sitting and waiting and hope the met starts working even better.

and now i have gone and screwed things up by going on BCPs because i wwanted to start aladactone again, so even though i have decided no more BCPs, i gotta wait out this cycle to see if the met is doing anything. OH i wish i hadn't started taking BCPs again...

i am waiting to hear back from my doc with regards to getting some blood work to check testosterone, just so i can see if there really is any progress going on that i just can't see yet... i think that would make things much easier for me.

i do try to watch what i eat, and i do exercise (walk 4-5 miles a day, except for these last two days when i've been stuck in front of a computer frantically finishing off papers...)... but i do wish they would approve met for PCOS all the same. i'm dreading when i'm going to have to switch doctors!!!
