Hi Trista, Like the other woman said, you NEED to go to the Dr. I had this same problem, except I bled VERY heavily every, single day and it went on for an entire YEAR before getting help. I'm also anemic and hypoglycemic--so you can IMAGINE how I felt losing all that blood. You NEED to have the BCP. It will help regulate your period so you will have a "regular" cycle. It took a few months for mine to finally get evened out, and my bleeding was still so severe. I was on BCPs for about 2 years before getting a shot of Lupron Depot, to chemically induce a menopausal state (no periods). I am VERY thankful for this because even on the BCPs, my periods would NOT be tolerable by any means. Try going through your pads every 15 minutes, and not having the great option of using tampons! I was continually clotting and was often bed ridden because of it. Please, DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!! The Dr's still have no idea why I bled so terribly or for so ong without medical intervention, that's why I'm taking this shot every 3 months to NOT have a period. Please, get over your fears and go to the Dr. immediately. The longer you wait, the more you risk your health even more. I, too, am overweight (about 340 lbs!) >:( but I still went. Please ger yourself treated right away. I don't know if there are other treatments, but the BCP WILL help you to at least get you regulated. Please go to the Dr. immediately. You risk anemia and hypoglycemia as well, and then more severe problems if you don't.
