no, it means that met isn't a miracle drug. it works to fix insulin metabolism, therefore other hormonal imbalances should be able to correct themselves.some hormones, because of their complicated synthesis and release cycles, are more difficult to correct, so i can see how LH/FSH wouldn't improve. since mainly they are fertility determinents, it is not as crucial to the entire treatment of PCOS. i mean we would all prefer to have normal cycles that are healthy, but given our genetic condition (PCOS/IR), i doubt that any of can exer expect to be perfectly and totally normal, especially on a cellular level.

our drug approval processes are long and expensive. the FDA does about a million independant examinations to determine the saftey and effectiveness of a drug. i know that it is annoying how long it takes to approve a med, and this is only my opinion, but i prefer a drug be tested to death before i start taking it. i want to know exactly what im dealing with.

you are expecting too much from the drug. i think that one of the worst things that has happened to PCOS patients in the past year or so, is that as Met has become more accepted and more prescribed for PCOS, doctors have once again been misinforming their patients. instead of simply telling them they are ok, like they used to, they are telling them there is a cure all pill...something that they can take and magically become thin, pregnant, hairless, clear skinned, and energetic. met is just not like that.

i personally think that as part of PCOS treatment, every patient should take a class in cellular biology and metabolism.that way people would know and understand what is happening in their bodies, and understand what it takes to correct these issues...its not all that complicated really...i mean not too bad lol =)

anyway, i think that if you keep taking the met, and watch what you eat...exercise...you will eventually see results...91% become ovulatory...so there are great odds.

hope this helps =)

sorry i rambled lol love, paula
