Jodi, I was the one praising Braun-like epilators. I have been using one since I was 17, I almost never shave and I’m happy with it.

Epilady, Braun and Epilady epilators have the same removal system: plucking. If time is an issue, go back to shaving it takes me close to an hour to do my legs, but I epilate once a week. I recommend using it at least once a week at the beginning the more often you use it, the less hair you’ll have to pluck, hence less pain (I feel almost no pain on my lower legs after all these years). Some have a massaging device you can attach to alleviate pain (don’t rely on it too much).

Zowie, you can find epilators online, at Philips and Braun websites, at QVC, or in a department store, if you’re lucky. I called Philips and they told me they don’t market epilators in US, but I found mine at the mall! If you buy it from Europe and live in US, you’ll need a converter. <<She also said that you can't use it on different types of hair---that once you choose a hair setting, you shouldn't change it because it won't work.>> That is not true, I’ve tried at least 5 types; you can change the hair setting anytime you want.
