Jodi,

I was the one praising the Braun-like hair removal devices. I’ve been a fan since I was 17, and I almost never shave.

Zowie,

If time is an issue, go back to shaving. It takes me close to 1 hour to do my legs. If you’re less hairy, it will take you considerably less. After all this time, I feel little pain. I would recommend using it weekly; the more often you use it, the less hair, hence less pain. Some have an attached massaging device that alleviates the pain. It’s not that easy to find one in US as it is in Europe. You can buy it online try Braun and Philips websites QVC, or at the store, if you’re lucky. I called Philips and they told me they don’t market epilators in US, but I found one at the mall! If you buy one from abroad, you may need a converter. “She also said that you can't use it on different types of hair---that once you choose a hair setting, you shouldn't change it because it won't work.” That is not true at least the ones I had (about 5) allowed you to change the setting anytime. Epilady uses the same technique, i.e. plucking. Mine still works after 9 years, but it’s slower than the newer versions my mom uses it!

Good luck
