Jodi,

I think I was the one praising the Braun-like hair removal devices. I've been using them since I was 17, and I almost never shave.

Zowie, Braun and Epilady are similar, in that they have the same removal technique: plucking. Epilady was my first, now I'm using Braun, and I'm happy with it. It is faster than the old version of Epilady, but if time is an issue then go back to shaving it takes me about an hour to do the legs (if you have less hair, it would take considerably less). You’re right, they’re not as easy to find in US. QVC is an option, and if you’re lucky you can find them in stores with electronic devices. Philips has a similar device too, and when I called them, they said they don’t market it in US, but I found one by chance in the mall. Try to get more info online, at Philips and Braun website, but if you buy it from Europe (where it’s as popular as Gillette for women in US), you’ll need a converter. All will hurt, especially if you’ve been shaving for years; at this point, I hardly feel pain. Some have an attached device that massages your skin at the same time, to diminish the pain. Good luck.
