Re: A thank you to everyone! + A Question on alternatives to Dianette???From: Sonnet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 1 May 2001 01:15:19 -0500 (CDT)
If you have PCOS, you should really be looking at being on some sort of insulin sensitizer to help with irregular cycles, ovulation, weight loss, and symptom reduction. Metformin, Avandia, even something like Chromium in a pinch? Many of us are on them to help us get pregnant while simutaneously reducing symptoms and helping us be healthier. Just a thought! And please don't be pressured into going on bcp if you don't want to! Some women find it helpful in controlling their symptoms when used with insulin meds; some women find it causes much more hormonal harm than good. It depends on your body and on the specific pill you are taking - but definitely don't feel pressured to be on it! There are many probably better options.
