After RE visit - still don't know if I have PCOSFrom: Chris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 18:12:57 -0500 (CDT)
Just saw my RE. He says that I'm not "normal" but I don't really have PCOS either. Grey area? Last week I asked you ladies about having one polycystic ovary. The RE says my hormone levels are "not too bad" Progesterone and Thyroid levels are "borderline". LH/FSH is 1:1, which isn't good, but much better than a PCOS ratio. I'm not complaining, but I don't know how to persue treatment for "not too bad" I start on Clomid next cycle (whenever that will be). I'm thinking of trying Chromium GTF. On another topic, my sister has PCOS. She's not in any grey area, but has every problem that I've seen you ladies talk about. However, her Insulin Resistance test came back normal, so they don't want to give her Metfomin. I think I've heard of Metformin being helpful even if someone's IR test says "normal." Can anyone comment on that? Is there any documentation I can send her to show her RE? Thanks in advance, Chris
