Hey Paula, Sorry you're having a bummy time. :( *hug* The dermatologist I saw Rx me "Lac Hydrin" it's an ammonium lactate cream (big tube--2 to a box) and this has worked wonders on the patches of the acanthosis nigricans. As far as the darkened skin areas, not sure since I haven't used it there, but the patches have disappeared. They peeled right off, since the lotion gets them really moist and they rub right off--but it takes a few days to work. Maybe you can ask your Dr. for this stuff. It's worked great for me.
