Hi Everyone, I am 24 yrs old and was diagnosed with PCOS about 6 months ago. I have been on Glucophage for 3 months...boy that was a hard one for my body to get used to. My ob gyn just gave me a prescription for the rest of the year for 500 mg of Glucophage, once a day...should he be prescribing me a higher dosage?

Also, he wants me on spironolactone for the excess hair...are there side effects with this med, also how does it work. He has me on 100 mg once a day.

Should I see a specialist for PCOS or are these meds ok?

Thanks!!!!!
