To sonnet & anyone else who is reading this message, I have recently landed an appointment with an apparently good Dr who is well versed in PCOS, after being shunned from gynae to gynae for most of my post-pubescent life, I want to get my PCOS treated. I am sick of the gynaes just treating my menstrual problems with hormone pills and other devices and not sorting out the whole problem. I honestly believe if I could just lose some weight with this thing, it would help my symptoms, as my problems were far worse before I plonked on a heap of weight after I had my son in 1998. I am in terested in trying the low-carb diets and want to have all the right tests done aswell, but I am unsure of how or what to ask for, I want to know IR and all that sort of thing as all I've ever had done is hormone tests and the laparoscopy/ultrasound/blood tests to confirm PCOS. I'll get straight to the point...Can anybody tell me a basic list of the tests I should ask for and how the low-carb diet works, so I'm a bit more "informed" before my appointment (June 12th) Thanks Best Wishes Cysters! Sunbeam (Jackie)
