Re: braun silk epil?From: Zowie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Apr 2001 21:11:16 -0500 (CDT)
Hi everyone, I saw this thread and had to respond. I've heard of the "Epilady" and was wondering if this device is similar. It's not a shaver as it plucks the hairs--is this like the Braun you're talking about? I have NEVER seen anything like this in ANY store and am very curious as to how I can get one. I have a Panasonic electric shaver that doesn't work well at all, regardless of what part I use (regular or bikini trimmer), so it sits in a drawer, and I've been using my husband's actually! I would LOVE to get a product that plucks the hairs rather than shaves them--but again, have NEVER seen one anywhere. I only heard about the "Epilady" in a TV ad YEARS ago. I had a friend who had it (I've still never seen it), and she told me it had different hair settings (coarse or fine), and that it hurt to use--so she was getting rid of it. She also said that you can't use it on different types of hair---that once you choose a hair setting, you shouldn't change it because it won't work. Is this true?? Where can I find a product like this?? Of course no one wants one that will hurt--so are there any recommendations from the ladies here? What "type" of product would this be called? (ex.--it's not a "shaver", so what title would it be?) Any info. is greatly appreciated! Thanks!--Zowie :)
