thanks joy. i've been doing some searching online for sources to buy just the head but i seem to only be able to find the whole unit. i guess that's just as well as they seem to have totally changed the silk epil from the one i have! now it has these little rubber strips that are supposed to make it less painful to use... i have found the unit for 42 dollars which is less than i paid for mine, so i think i might just buy a new one. i have also found it with the shaving attachment but i don't think i really want that part, unless it is a really good shaver head?
