Re: Good news: UK Dr admits lack of knowledge & learns moreFrom: Hannah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Apr 2001 09:30:04 +0100
Hi Karen Fantastic news - well done. I'm from the UK and had appointments on Weds with both my local GP and a Family Planning GP - no such luck in getting Metformin prescribed but my local GP did send me for blood tests to test my sugar and the FP GP sent me for blood tests to test my LH and FSH. Couple of questions:- 1. Was it results from a blood sugar test that got your DR to prescribe Metformin? 2. Where abouts are you from in the UK? 3. Do you suffer with your weight (sorry, a bit personal)? I want to push for Metformin when my blood sugar results come back but I'll be devasted if he says there normal - what ammunition do I have then? I'd love to hear how you get on with the Met - maybe I can use you as an example next time I visit the GP. Take Care Hannah
