Hair issue and sensitivity

While the last line of "anonymous's" is somewhat condescending I do believe the post was meant figuratively. Apparently a couple of people have taken it literally in a 'genocide' type vein. Most likely because of the recent heated exchanges on the other forum. Under normal, calm circumstances I don't think anyone would have thought twice about her off-hand comment. I seriously doubt she or anyone would actually become suicidal over facial hair; depressed, frustrated, anxious, sad, angry - yes and understandably so; suicidal for that reason alone, I don't think so and I know that if you really thought someone was serious about a suicide threat you would do what you could to help her.

I think she was only trying to convey her own level of frustration and helplessness at her lack of control over her condition and symptoms. I do not intend to sound like I'm trivializing the facial hair issue, I'm quite sure for those of you in the middle of dealing and coping with it, the issue is anything but trivial, I'm only attempting to put it into proper perspective with the other more serious affects and symptoms of PCOS like IR, heart disease, infertility, weight control, the things that really can put an end to your life and/or quality of life.

Please also keep in mind that OBGYN.net is an International web site and all forums are open to the entire world, for the majority of people posting on this particular forum, English is the first language but for a number of other posters it is not. Remember too, all ages are welcome.

Medications, treatments and procedures are not available to everyone in every country, nor are they necessarily labeled the same. You should always check with your own physician before following ANY advice you receive on this or any other message board or forum, no one knows your particular medical history better than you and your doctor. This includes all over-the-counter medications, herbs, vitamins and other supplements.

A little pause to review your post before hitting the 'OK, Send Message' button will go a long way toward keeping this forum running smoothly.
