need some support!From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Apr 2001 14:10:29 -0500 (CDT)
hi all, i'm a 24 year old who's just about had it with this pcos! i can't believe how much its taken over my life. i was diagnosed at 18 and i've never had a period without medication.when i was diagnosed, i was sent to one of the 'best' gynaes for a consultation and she put me on androcur and estigyn for 2 years which really didn't do the job for me. it gave me horrible mood swings and dry skin and acne. i stopped that went on the pill and while that worked, my excess hair still continued. i couldn't believe how much it was affecting my life. i am an attractive girl, and i'm not really that overweight, though i started gaining a lot of weight during that period. i started taking dianne when i was 22 and that worked really well, though i never felt in control of my body. i hate that feeling, so january this year i stopped dianne and became positive of getting control, i started meditation, exercising a lot, eating healthy food and drinking 3 litres of water everyday! i've definately become much more in control of my skin, which is very subdued now and though my periods haven't returned, i'm positive they will. the only thing that is getting me down is the excess hair stubbornly growing back. its sideburns, around my neck and chin and upperlip, belly and arms. i've had it with the hair problem, i can handle everything else but that! i need some help, or advice... ps: sorry for the cheesy email name...
