Hi I have posted here a couple times before and wasn't sure if I had PCOS but my doctor has diagnosed as having it. Since I will be around for a while allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gena, I'm 24 just turned 24 on Thursday which also happens to be when I found out I have PCOS, and I live in Kentucky. From what I can figure I have had this for 6 to 8 years or at least thats when all my synptoms started. I tried to get pregnant in my previous marriage but of course had no luck but at the time I just thought it was because I had been on birth control for so long. I go back to the doctor in two weeks to dicuss how to get my thyroid and testosterone level normal. What I am angry about is that when I first started experiencing symptons and went to the doctor she stuck me on birth control pills and said my symptons were normal for someone my age (16 at the time) so these synptoms just became part of my everyday life I really didn't think anything was wrong with me. I had never been to the doctor that actually diagnosed me. It was my first visit just to get to know the doctor and talk with him and after the examine he asked me some question and told me I had a lot of synptoms of PCOS. I didn't even know what it was at the time. I will forever be thankful to him though. I am having a lot of trouble dealing with it emotionally. Any advice? Thanks, Gena
