fertility lensesFrom: arlene (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Apr 2001 23:30:29 -0500 (CDT)
Hi everyone...we have just started ttc (I am in the midst of getting a Clomid rx) and and I have been using everything short of ovulation kits to try to predict ovulation (unfortunately, since going off the pill July 2000 and being diagnosed Jan. 2001, nothing has happened). Something about all the peeing and pouring and measuring just doesn't appeal to me, probably since right now I KNOW I am not ovulating. I have been taking my BBT and charting cervical mucus. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about fertility lenses? I ordered one off the Conceiving Concepts website just because it seemed interesting. Basically, it's a magnified, lighted lens about the size of a tube of lipstick that you lick every morning and examine your saliva through the lens. It stems from the theory that around the time of ovulation, your saliva, much like cervial mucus, changes in consistency. At non-fertile times, it should look like random spots, but at fertile times, the saliva should have a "fern" pattern. As i haven't of yet ovulated, I don't know if this works or if its reliable. Does anyone have any input on this? -Arlene
