Re: aldactone questionFrom: Val (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Apr 2001 06:36:31 -0500 (CDT)
I take 100mg of aldactone 2x a day- morning and after work. If I miss one pill my feet and hands swell immediately. I am also on loestrin BCP for 3 months at a time because I was getting severe headaches during the week of my period, my doctor just said skip it and have a period 4 a year. Talk about being disconnected from knowing your body is functioning! I was skeptical, but it is working fine and I have not had any break through bleeding. I tried the generic aldactone- spiro- and it did not work as well for me. It was like it took longer to get into my bloodstream so I had some tail end swelling around the time I took the pill. I feel awesome, my face cleared up, and I am five lbs. from my goal wieght. I am not IR, so wieght watchers and exercise worked with the other medication to take off 40 lbs. Best of luck to you. Birth control is not a bad option. I was very against it because I had 4 large fibroid tumors removed last April! Anyway, once I want to get pregnant my doctor said he will give me 2 cycles to do it on my own, then onto Clomid or whatever it takes!
