PCOSFrom: Renee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Apr 2001 23:03:36 -0500 (CDT)
I am concerned with my quick diagnosis of PCOS. I am seeing an endocrine and diabetes doctor. She took blood and noticed my LH(9.5) and FSH(5.4)plus a few other symptoms (oily skin, acne on my back, hair loss, periods heavy first day but have ceased by the second day with alittle spotting here and there) and cramps during my cycle) There are a few other little things also. (Also, high cholesterol, high ldl) I had my tubes cut and burnt 8 years ago. I am scared because I have read that many women miss periods and I have never missed a period since I was 12. The past year they have changed. Real heavy the first day 1/2 then hardly anything.. I am on Gluchophage 1000 mg. a day. I don't like the med because my intestines gurgle alot and I have had loose bowels. Should there of been more tests first before this treatment? I am scared of taking unneccesary medication if I am not with PCOS. Do you feel that my symptoms are enough for this treatment?
