Re: How much water with Metformin??From: anonymous@obgyn.netMon, 16 Apr 2001 18:35:15 EDT
Anon - I haven't heard that you are supposed to drink more water than normal with met?? I try to get my 64 oz in every day (the recommended) but God knows there are days that I can't swallow one more gulp of water and I've gotten nowhere near 8 glasses (I know, BAD girl) and I've never had any adverse reactions with my kidneys. I do notice a definate difference in my skin though when I don't drink enough!!! If you are drinking 2 large bottles per day- it may not be the amount recommended but I can't imagine you getting dehydrated to the point of kidney trouble if you are drinking that much - but I'm not a doc either. I don't enjoy drinking water either but it made it easier to put it in one of those thermal type 32 ounce cups with a lid, add some ice and lemon slices(natural diuretic) and just drink at least 2 of those a day and I'm set. Susan C. :-)
