PCOS is not lilnked to trouble concentrating, Insulin resistance is. it is sometimes called brain fog. its what happens when your blood sugar/insulin flip flops constantly, your testing may have shown your levels were fine, but if you are experiencing trouble concentrating, and you feel it is linked to ir/pcos, your levels are messed up somewhere. ritalin is used for attention deficit disorder. it is usually over diagnosed and over perscribed. commen side effects of ritalin include: Fast heartbeat; increased blood pressure,Loss of appetite; nervousness; trouble in sleeping, With long-term use or at high doses: Changes in mood; confusion; delusions (false beliefs); depersonalization (feeling that self or surroundings are not real); hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there); weight loss. also, it is important to remember that ritalin is habit forming, and by using it, you could become dependant. i think your best bet in controlling your concentration problems would lie with controlling insulin. therefore, you should be working on controlling diet and using met/glucophage to help combat the insulin production problems. hope this helps =) love, paula
