Seeking the experienced

Hello. I am 22 and I am sure I have PCOS. I have the classic symptoms since I was about 17. On average I've always had my period about every other month, though it's been more often lately. I have been afraid to go to the doctor about it because I didn't know how they and my family would react. But as I get older I'm wondering what help is available. I'm just worried about what test will be done and if there really are options available. I don't want to spend the rest of my life in a doctor's office and on medications.

I am single and not interested in children now, but who knows for the future.

I'm about 50 pounds overweight. I've been exercising moderately daily for a few months and have lost some weight. Will it be harder and harder for me to lose?

What is in store for me in the future and what help is really available? What should my concerns be? What will be done when I tell a doctor about this? What kind of doctor should I seek?

Thanks.
