I'm interested to know what symptoms of PCOS you were experiencing prior to your diagnosis. Also, what symptoms have been alleviated through the use of these herbal remedies. How are you doing now? Are you currently suffering from any symptoms? PCOS affects all of us in different ways. Personally, I have suffered from severe acne and hair growth on my face since about the age of 18 (I'm now 30). Nothing has helped me, no over-the-counter medicines, nothing from the dermatologist, and nothing natural either. I have spent a lot of time and energy trying to find something to help me. I have ordered every supposed miracle cream and pill there is. I have tried homeopathic remedies as well as supposed cures for the skin like taking things to cleanse the blood and purify the liver. Because of the hormonal component of this disease, nothing helped my skin. I also tried acupunture for quite a while thinking that might regulate my hormones. I have been given antibiotics from the dermatologist that worked as long as I was taking them but when I was taken off, the acne came back. I was put on Accutane for five months, didn't do a damn thing in the end. I would give anything to find something to help me. I happily submitted to what you may think are "severe prescription drugs" as a way of fixing my horrible symptoms so that I might save whatever bit of self-esteem is still intact. I currently take a BCP (which I'm praying is going to help me, spironolactone for the hair growth, and glucophage because I'm insulin resistant. Irregular periods where never a problem, I always got my period every month (although I was in very bad pain for the first day of my cycle). I must say, if irregular periods were my biggest problem I would get on my knees and kiss the ground thanking God from the bottom of my heart for giving me such a little burden to carry. For me, however, that's not the case.
