alternative treatments!From: chrissy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Apr 2001 18:17:51 -0500 (CDT)
hi! i have never used this forum before, and this is new to me, but i can't help but being blown away by the amount of people who are using such severe prescription drugs and surgical treatments. about 2 years ago i was dianosed with PCOS and my doctor had me use a birth control pill for a couple months. i had never used it before and did not need to (i am a lesbian), so i was really resistant to using it. i ended up going to a herbalist to find alternatives. well, as a result i made my own herb capsules, but someone can also make a tea or infusion. within a year my period is regular again. of course, i also started being more active, sleeping better, and eating more salmon for good proteing and fats. the book i highly recommend is "Herbal Remedies for Women" by Amanda McQuade Crawford, MNIMH. She has a chapter on ovarian cysts and my herbalist gave me a recipe that combined her two recipes for herbal formulas for the whole menstrual cycle. i'd be happy to share that with anyone. i still have not tried to get pregnant and i do not plan on trying for another couple years, so i do not know if i am fertile yet, but i do know that i am regular for the first time in my life.
