Technically, you are entitled to your results and copies of anything. It does make a difference when you are having a test done by ORDER of a doctor. Hospitals treat tests differently - they won't give results to anyone except the physician who requested it. If you want to have a copy, you have to get it from the doctor who prescribed the test. You probably have to go in person to the doctor's office to get them, but you don't have to book or pay for another appointment. If you ask the doctor for a copy of your results and they won't give it to you (sometimes you have to pay for a copy) , you can complain to the American Medical Association. I do agree that it is way more of a hassle than it should be! Unfortunately, every bureaucracy has its own rules..
