How did I get this?From: Alaniya (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 1 Apr 2001 10:19:26 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, ever since I started my periods at the age of eleven, I've never had them regularly. What did I do to get Polycystic ovaries in the first place? About three years ago, I was put on Dianette which regularised my periods and lessened (to some extent) the spots on my face. Since it worked for me, I carried on with it for about two years. I had heard that being on the pill for long periods of time can cause difficulties in getting pregnant later on in life. So I've been off Dianette for just over a year and my periods have gone back to being very irregular...in fact the past month (for the first time), I'm actually spotting. My questions are: 1.What did I do to get Polycystic Ovaries in the first place? 2.If I don't take the pill, is there any other way of sorting my polycystic ovaries out? 3.Since I've been off the pill for a year, have my polycystic ovaries become worse? So the cases without treatment, does the condition get worse and what would happen? Sorry about the length of this posting. I hope that you can understand my worries and share your thoughts with me. Thanking you...
