Re: Is my doctor overreacting?From: Dona (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Mar 2001 21:17:28 -0600 (CST)
Woman with PCOS are at higher risk for many pregnancy complications Gestational diabetes being #1. followed by hypertension (pre eclampsia) and excess amniotic fluid. Also we have a higher c-section rate and higher rate of having very large babies. So it is good that your doctor is being vigillant!!! Be happy that he is taking good care of you. This is comming from someone who has had many complications in pregnancy (all listed above) because of PCOS. Dona > >I am 27 years old and was diagnosed 10 years ago with PCOS. I am >currently 32 weeks pregnant and have never been happier. My doctor has >had me on weekly visits for over a month and sends me for tests at the >slightest sign of any change or problem. All tests have been fine >except for the except for the positive Group B Srep result. When it was >discovered that I was pregnant I was told the hard part part was over. >Is it normal for a doctor to be so vigilant because I have PCOS??? >Sometimes she has me worrying about nothing.
