I've just been diagnosedFrom: Christi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Mar 2001 18:12:57 -0600 (CST)
I've just been diagnosed with a mild form of PCOS and I'm not quite sure what to do with all of this information. As an RN I am not used to applying syndromes and illnesses to myself, although it is a releif to know why I have facial, neck and body hair, missed periods, and have always been a little heavy. My diagnosis came because my husband and I have begun a fertility workup. I sat in my kitchen today after reading into the syndrome and cried. I've always pictured myself as a mom. I hope it is possible. I am now taking glucophage and decadron. I am a little concerned about the long term effects of taking these, although I am told I will only be taking them until I get pregnant. Then what? Thank you for posting your experiences. I know that my symptoms could be much worse and I know many of you have been throug much more. It is a comfort to know that you are out there.
