In my opinion Laura I wouldn't do anything rash. Your feelings may change when you meet a special someone and you may want to try to have children of your own. While I respect the fact that you don't wish to ride this emotional rollercoaster, I have also come to realize that making decisions that are permanent must be thought out very carefully. Do what you feel in your heart is what is right for you, but by all means, make sure 150% that it is what you want because once you have this surgery there is no going back. Besides, it won't really 'cure' you in any way so why have it done? At least if all the plumbing is there you have the option of ttc later on. Yes, the odds may be against all women with pcos but you don't know until you begin trying what will work best for you. All I ask is that you consider all your options very carefully. I hope I've been of help.
