I'm regrowing hair : D / Endo. updateFrom: Beth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Mar 2001 19:52:46 -0600 (CST)
I had my follow up visit with my Endo. yesterday, he was very impressed wtih my progress. He pointed out something I hadn't noticed... I have TONS of new little hair coming in around my hair line!!!!! Yippee LOL! I had my hair dyed back to original because I couldn't have the lighter hair, my thinning showed too much. (dying made a big difference!) I hadn't noticed the hair until he pointed it out. I've lost 23 pounds to date reducing carbs. He and I both believe Spiro opened the door for the weight loss. Unfortunately it doesn't look like have any options for lowering my testosterone. I don't want to do steroids or bcp's so I'm pretty much screwed I think. He does think once I hit menopause it will lower, BUT I'm only 31 so that's not necessarily a quick fix LOL. Unless I start having side effects from Spiro., I will probably be on it forever. My blood pressure has always been low and the Spiro isn't affecting it at all, it's still 104/74. I refused an Actos or Avandia prescription. We had talked about me trying one or the other last time, I was in pretty bad shape that visit though. I haven't had the ups and downs before/after meal time. The depression, tiredness, mood swings and so on are all gone. Since I'm managing my IR really well with just diet changes, I opted to skip the prescription unless I need it down the road. That's about it, he was very happy with my progress. Spiro has definitely been a Godsend for me as has lowering carbs.
