Wow, Kari, he doesn't have a clue. Before you go to the next endo, you need to make sure to interview him first! Sam Thatcher recommends in his book, PCOS: The Hidden Epidemic, that you ask the following PCOS specific questions before you make an appointment: 1. How many PCOS patients are being treated by the practice? 2. What ancillary services are available ?( nutritionist, exercise physiologist, psychologist, endocrine lab, ultrasound, hair removal systems) 3. Do many patients receive insulin-altering drugs like Metformin? 4. Is clinical or basic research performed in conjunction with your office on PCOS? 5. If also for fertility, does your center perform laparoscopy gonadotropin injections, assisted reproduction including in vitro fertilization and sperm injection?

Personally, only numbers 1 and 3 matter to me, so they are the ones I asked. The reservationist will almost certainly not know the answers to these questions so you will need to ask to speak to the doctor or his/her nurse.
