I was in college in 1980 and I had just gotten done washing my hair in the sink and as I stood up I nearly fell back over from the terrible pain. I was at home so I laid down on my bed thinking it was gas, but it hurt bad. I was doubled over. I went to the ER and because this was so many years ago, the Dr. did surgery to find out what happened. They discovered the ruptured cyst and also took out my appendix. Nowdays with ultrasound and other tests I'm sure they can make a better diagnosis. Married, and 3 kids (via 3 c-sects.) later, I have quite the road map on my belly!
