Re: Can my cyst burst???From: Hannah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Mar 2001 07:38:40 -0600 (CST)
Krista I recently (January) had a cyst burst (or that's what the herblist ended up putting the pain I was in down to) no such interest from my GP. I'd suffered some dull aching during the week but my husband and I were househunting on the Saturday and the pain got intense and I couldn't put my right foot down comfortably. The pain was manageable if I layed down and rested but I went to the emergency doctor in case it was anything serious. I had to do a pregnancy test just in case it was an eptopic (sp?) but this was negative and I saw my herbalist on the Tuesday and she examined my abdoman and said that the right side was really hot either infection or inflammation - she prescribed me a new treatment and within 24 hours I was comfortably walking. At my next visit she told me she could only assume it was a burst cyst and that even a scan wouldn't determine if this was what the pain was because the toxins from the burst cyst would have been mopped up by my body. A period did follow 4 days later - my second in 17 months - so the pain was worth it. Take Care and don't worry - you've enough to think about without worrying about things that could happen. Hannah
