What questions should I ask the doctor?From: April (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 25 Mar 2001 22:00:24 -0600 (CST)
Hello. I have an appointment with a gynecologist on April 30th after dealing with the symptoms of PCOS for about 9 years, and I would like to know what questions I should ask re: treatment, medication, and the consequences of this syndrome. I am "coming out of the closet" so-to-speak, because I'm just not satisfied anymore with the way I was dismissed years ago. I was placed on the pill after being diagnosed when I was 21, but noone ever helped me with my hair problem or weight problem. But I'm tired of not eating. I'm tired of shaving in places where no girl should ever grow hair. I'm tired of feeling fat, hairy, unfeminine, and crazy. Is there a list of questions that I should ask the GYN? I want to know my options, and I have learned from experience that options aren't exactly handed to you by doctors. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give!
